Membership. The simplest way to give your support is to become a
member. As a member, you receive the Ohioana Quarterly, and you are invited to
attend our special events. Beyond that, however, you are helping to
preserve an important and substantial literary legacy.
Join us by completing and returning our Membership Form
with the appropriate membership fee.
Financial Support. The Ohioana Library is a model of a successful public-private partnership.
Ohioana receives a major annual subsidy from the State of Ohio. At the same time, we must also
rely on the generous support of individuals, businesses, foundations, and organizations to carry out our mission and programming.
Among these key sources are:
The Martha Kinney Cooper Society. Named for the dynamic and visionary
First Lady who founded Ohioana in 1929, the Cooper Society is a diverse group of individuals and families whose
generous commitment of $1,000 or more annually makes a significant impact on our unique mission to collect,
promote, and celebrate the achievements of Ohio’s greatest writers, artists and musicians.

Sponsorships. Corporate and Foundation Sponsorships are special gifts to provide major
underwriting for Ohioana projects and events. Sponsors receive special benefits and recognition for their involvement.

David Weaver, Development Director, at (614) 466-3831 or by
email at dweaver@ohioana.org.

Endowment Gifts and the Ohioana Legacy Circle. In 2005, Ohioana established
several endowment funds at the Columbus Foundation. Donors giving to the endowment can
enjoy significant tax-benefits while at the same time providing major support for the future of Ohioana.
The Legacy Circle provides special recognition to those who include Ohioana in their estate plans.
For more information on these giving opportunities, contact David Weaver, Development Director, at (614) 466-3831 or by
email: dweaver@ohioana.org.
Commemorative and Memorial Gifts. You may also give a contribution to Ohioana to
commemorate a special occasion, or
in honor of or in memory of someone special.
An Easy Way to Donate: Through GoodSearch. Now you can support Ohioana every
time you search the Internet. For each time you use GoodSearch, a direct donation will be made to the Ohioana Library.
The money adds up quickly—if 1,000 people search just twice a day, it could generate $7,300 a year—
and the money donated is generated through advertising, so it is free for us and easy for you. It is important, however, to use this link and place in on
your favorite list as it is
programmed for donations to Ohioana:
http://www.goodsearch.com/?charityid=836422
Then for every search you conduct, one penny will be donated to Ohioana. It’s a great way to provide
much-needed support by doing something you do every day.
Volunteer Opportunities. The Ohioana Library is the perfect place to
employ present talents or to develop new ones.
Volunteers of all ages help us with reviewing books;
collecting, organizing, and filing biographical information;
entering data into the computer; preparing for special events;
researching topics of special interest; developing educational
programs; and countless other projects.
Please contact us if you are
interested in volunteering.
Donations to Our Collection. We welcome donations of books,
manuscripts, photographs, sheet music, letters, clippings, and other
ephemera related in some way to the literary and cultural heritage of Ohio.
We also publish a special “Wants List,” available upon request, of out-of-print
or hard-to-find books that we need for our collection. For information about donating books and other material to the library see
Material Donations.
A Gift of Ohioana. An Ohioana Membership gift is an ideal gift for any reader, book lover, or
fan of the Buckeye State. We will package your gift with an approperate note or letter, a brochure about Ohioana, a bookmark, and the
most recent issue of the Ohioana Quarterly.
Ohioana Collection Builders Project.
The Ohioana Collection Builders Project is an effort to fill in gaps in the collection,
in which donors are encouraged to fund the purchase of out-of-print, scarce, and rare titles that the library needs.
